Which can be abbreviated as COD; because each bottle of COD has an octagonal star mark on it, whisky enthusiasts usually refer to it as the “Star Mark.” Diageo owns numerous whisky brands worldwide, and it has 9 million casks in Scotland alone, almost occupying half of all whisky casks in Scotland. The Star Mark represents a unique collection of premium whiskies exclusive to the Diageo Group.
The whiskies under the Star Mark label are a fusion of the combined expertise of Diageo’s top master blenders. The blending team is led by four of the most experienced and top-tier master blenders from within the Diageo group. Together, they search for the most special, ancient, and unique casks from over 50 warehouses, making it extremely unique and personalized. These casks are very rare, and their selection requires years of careful evaluation to ensure they are found at the right time.
Available through Diageo’s private client channel, purchases must be made in full casks, so only those with substantial financial means and a genuine passion for whisky would make such a purchase. Therefore, each bottle not only features the Star Mark but also includes hand-written serialized information such as the “Patron’s Name,” “Maturity,” and “Bottling Date.”
